How Does YouTube Pay for Music Used?

You are not the only person who gets paid when your Shorts are viewed. If you use background music, the music rights holder also receives a payment for every single view. Strangely, YouTube's payout for music used can be significantly higher than the amount creators receive from the Shorts program.

With Audiolounge Earn, the amount could be several times this. Figures may vary from channel to channel due to factors such as video audience, channel subscriber-base etc. 

 

Audiolounge Earn revenue is in addition to your regular YouTube Shorts earnings you receive from YouTube and does not affect this.

We get paid quarterly from YouTube and we pay creators 30 days after that. This means you will receive quarterly payments for ad revenue from our tracks used in your Shorts. There is a slight delay between when the videos are released and when you will get paid but we are chained to YouTube’s reporting and payment protocols. If this changes in the future we will let you know.

 

Can I leave the Audiolounge Earn Program?

 

The agreement with Audiolounge Earn is open ended and either party is free to leave at any time they choose. All you need to do is submit to us in writing that you wish to leave and you receive confirmation that you have left the program. Bear in mind that if you choose to do this, payments will stop and you could be missing out on passive income.
